Pride Week: Sunday

by Ellie McHale

With Pride Week at an end (even though people are still out celebrating), I’m disappointed that I didn’t get to go up to San Francisco today. This was the first Pride I’ve missed in years, and with marriage equality the law now, I so wanted to be in the throng! This entire week, I wanted to celebrate! Next year, though.

To round out the week long series, I give you Ms. Dusty Springfield. You didn’t know she was bisexual? Well, now you do!

If I had any semblance of a decent singing voice, this would be my go to karaoke song. Always and forever, I love this song!!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Pride celebrations and plan to continue to celebrate love throughout the year and until the end of time. Remember, love conquers all, even if it doesn’t seem that way.

Peace out, y’all and have a wonderful week!

Pride Week: Saturday

by Ellie McHale

Another late post, y’all!!! I completely lost track of time. Seriously, I thought it was Sunday. I think I might have a bit of the premenstrual brain. While this post will go up on Sunday, please know that I started to write it on Saturday! I promise.

Here’s an amazing song, one that should be on every love song playlist:

Joan has gotten me through some tough moments, and I am so grateful for music.

Hope everyone is having an awesome Pride weekend, whether you are out reveling in the city, or are at home with loved ones.

Pride Week: Friday

by Ellie McHale

Bloody well finally! It’s the middle of 2015 and marriage between consenting adults, regardless of their gender and sex, is legal. It took long enough! What a perfect time for this to happen.

Of course I have to work both Saturday & Sunday, so cannot revel in the streets of San Francisco with everyone. But, there will be more than enough people celebrating! What a joyous occasion! [I’m really hoping no one screws it up and wreaks havoc in the streets. Everyone, whilst having fun, please be safe!]

Tonight, I’m sharing with you one of my favorite albums: Bitter, by Me’Shell Ndegeocello. Please go and buy it. It’s money well spent. Seriously!

Seriously, folks. What a momentous day. Celebrate in the best way possible. Love! Be love! Share love! Give love!!!

Pride Week: Thursday

by Ellie McHale

Hey loves! Sorry to post so late! It’s been a long day, and I just remembered that I wanted to share a video.

I love REM, always have, always will. This is one of my favorite songs and it always lands on any Chillout playlist I create.

I wish I had gone out tonight to celebrate with everyone, but I was too tired. Tomorrow night might be promising though! Have fun, everyone, and please be safe! Go with love.

Pride Week: Wednesday

Howdy! How’s your week going?

Here’s a little midweek pick me up. If you need a 25 minute break, enjoy Queen at LiveAid.

Enjoy the rest of you Wednesday. Remember, you are loved.

Pride Week: Tuesday

Happy Tuesday! Hope you are all doing well.

Here’s a lil’ George Michael cover from one of my favorite singers, Reina Williams.

Go forth and love!

Renewal

by Ellie McHale

Hello readers!

I realize it has been way too long since I have posted. 2014 was one of those years that flew by too quickly and without much excitement. Work seemed to be an endless struggle. Pushkin, my beloved cat, passed away. I let school overwhelm me. The gym was an afterthought. Honestly though, I lost my mojo, my spark. The comfort of unhappiness was endless; I allowed it to linger.

But, I’m too old to wallow in an unattractive funk. This year, I am absolutely determined to say hello to my mojo again. For those of you who don’t know, I like anything that is a multiple of three. While 2015 isn’t one, 15 is. Also, this year marks me being ex utero for 33 years. So, that means it’s time to get things moving.

Things I look forward to this year are:

  1. Completing a half-marathon for the second time;
  2. Coachella Weekend 1 with a a merry crew of misfits;
  3. Completing an AA in Paralegal Studies;
  4. Having a more fulfilling career;
  5. Carving out time to write on a regular basis; and
  6. Moving somewhere new!

These are the tangible goals, and I am sure there will be other exciting things that I can do.

Happy new year, everyone! May 2015 be awesome and full of laughter and happiness.

Ssss’hilar

by Ellie McHale

Sometimes, all you need in life is to laugh maniacally by yourself in your car while waiting for your next class to begin. And, that’s what I have been doing the last week.

After eight months without updating the feed (well actually, I think I unsubscribed), I loaded up my iTunes with almost 100 episodes of Ten Minute Podcast. If you haven’t listened to any of it or even heard of it, I suggest you hop on the bandwagon immediately. It is exactly what it sounds like: a ten minute podcast. Three comedians, ten minutes, HILARITY! Everyone knows who Will Sasso, Chris D’Elia, and Bryan Callen are, and if ya’don’t, ya’sssss’sad. Yes, it’s three dudes being dudes. But, it really is the most fundamental ten minutes of laugh out loud you can have. And, if their humour isn’t for you, so be it. I’m glad I waited eight months to reload. Ten minutes twice a week isn’t enough. I need an hour of it every damn day. Seriously, listen to one, maybe five. If you’re entertained, subscribe and listen to ALL of them. I’ll warn you, it’s been around for just over two years, so you have a lot of catching up to do.

That’s really all I wanted to tell you. Just like the @TenMinPod, this is it. Short and sweet…

Now get listening, y’all.

Clap Your Hands

by Ellie McHale

If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands!

This is just the video I needed to watch. What a great start to 2014! Thank you, Rainn Wilson.

While you are learning about happiness and success, please check out my list of books to read in 2014. Feel free to leave me any suggestions for interesting books that I may enjoy!

We’re Growing Up

Happy New Year! May 2014 be fantastic for everyone!

Because a new year is upon us, I want to share a bittersweet song with you. Brandi Carlile is an amazing lyricist and musician & always puts me in a great mood.
